FusionFall: Kevin

Wow, it’s been a really long time since I’ve done one of these! There’s other stuff I should be working on but I took a break because somehow I got it into my head that Kevin needed an in-game character image too.

The avatar idea is really dumb don’t look at it I have no idea how to incorporate his shovel chin into a more cartoonish style than the character art but less cartoonish than in the show itself. Don’t look at it. Don’t look.

The art itself was based heavily on Eddy’s character sheet ([link] ) to get a better idea of manga-style-EEnE. I think the character sheets I’ve done before have almost always been based on an existing sheet since I moved away from that drawing style a while ago and it’s very difficult trying to get back to it but also trying to move ahead… At any rate, I didn’t try to make him overly pretty (like a lot of restyled Kevin art I’ve seen) just because in FusionFall all the EEnE characters are actually pretty weird-looking!

The background is the sunken mall skate park near Townsville Town Hall, that seemed like the best place outside the cul-de-sac for Kevin to hang out. I changed it at the last minute - before it was actually Kevin’s house in Peach Creek! Or as close as the game gets to it, anyway - the second house on the right from the entrance of the cul-de-sac.

I also really like the idea of Kevin with a lot of freckles. He and Numbuh 3 buy their sweaters at the same place, by the way.
